Wilson's Apple Orchard

During our weekend in Iowa City, we took a few hours to head over to Wilson's Apple Orchard. The weather was great and we had a nice time. Kellan got to ride behind a tractor, walk through the orchards, pick apples and eat apples, blow bubbles, etc. He sure was worn out by the end.

Ahhh...Iowa in the fall. A nice view of the orchard.

Iowa City!

Last weekend we made a trip back to Iowa City for a long weekend. The weather was beautiful and we had a fun time. We got to take Kellan to the Iowa Homecoming Parade on Friday night where he got to see lots of "Gawkeyes". Here are some pics from Day 1 in Iowa City! Thanks to Dad, we had great seats right at the beginning of the parade!

Trying to get down near the action.

Sitting with Nana, waching the parade very intently.

Getting a better angle.

Autumn Gold Festival

We took Kellan up to Estes Park to check out their annual Autumn Gold Festival. They have brats, burgers, beer, and bands. The day was absolutely gorgeous--unusually warm for the mountains actually. We met some friends to listen to the music in their central park then took walk around town. After our walk, we ended the evening with dinner at the Estes Park Brewery. It was a great weekend activity...we may have to make it a tradition!

We've seen these jumpy castles several different places and Kellan has always been interested. He finally got to try it out and it was free!

He had a good time until the big kids started jumping around him and he kept falling.

Beautiful mountains in the background.

Jaffa was a bit tired from watching the Iowa football game so he took a nap.

Kellan tried to wake him...

but gave up and decided to join him.

Out for a walk along Main Street.

Sitting out behind Starbucks.

View from Starbucks' patio. Can't beat it!

Monkey Bizness

Kellan got invited to a birthday party at Monkey Bizness. Monkey Bizness is an indoor play area for little kids. They have playgrounds, balls, things to climb in/on, etc. Kellan has been to a couple of parties there now and really enjoys himself. He doesn't want to quit playing after the hour is up. Not even for cake!

Broomfield Days Parade

A couple of weeks ago, Jaffa and I took Kellan to his first parade. He was a big starstruck when he saw the real life Elmo. He also loved the candy, marching bands, and horses.
