new tricks, new treats!

Last weekend we decided that it was time to lower the mattress in Kellan's crib to a deeper setting. We were afraid he might start peeking over the edge soon. Well...the other night he proved us right! Sooner than we thought. We set Kellan in his crib while we were picking up around the house. A few minutes later I heard Jaffa laughing in Kellan's room so I walked in to see his new trick...

He seems very proud of himself for figuring out how to stand in his crib!

Tonight he was in a very cheery mood after his bath so I put him in his crib again. This time I caught his little climbing trick on camera. (check out his mohawk)

Kellan has a tooth coming in on the bottom so he chews on everything and drools quite a bit too. Here he is trying to show off his new tooth.

Along with his new tricks this week, he got to try a new treat. They are kind of like teething biscuits but much softer. He seemed to enjoy himself. And as an added bonus, the dogs like them too so they clean the floor when he's finished!

And here is a sweet smile to brighten everyone's day!

San Diego!

I finally got to check out southern California last week when mom and I took a girls trip to San Diego! I was very sad to leave two feet of snow in Colorado (yeah right!) but we had a wonderful time. We rented bikes, ate meals along the beach, checked out San Diego's Wild Animal Park, and tasted many wines.

The morning I left Colorado...

Here's a picture of us on our bikes. After this picture was taken, we proceeded to ride for 2 hours in the wrong direction. Once we decided to ask for help, we were told that we had almost made it to Mexico! We were only a mile or two from Tijuana! I think I got my map skills from my mom.

Thanks for the great memories mom--can't wait to find somewhere new for next year!

Exploring...

I thought this blog would be a good opportunity to update everyone with news and pictures about what is currently happening in our lives. I am exploring what it's all about and trying to figure out how to manage all of the neat options. My goal is to update at least once a week!
